This coming weekend I will be flying out to California where I will meet up with Ricky on his California recruiting tour. He is going to pick up myself and the Crone’s in Oakland and we are going to make our way towards the Napa Valley for some very fun wine touring!!
Lucky for us, the Crone’s have done this before and we have a grand tour lined up. I will be sure to post pictures of our adventure.

DRAFT DAY
Draft Day has arrived! This year we have a couple things to keep our eyes on. As always we will be watching and researching every pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers. My fingers are crossed for Brandon Albert (UVA) in the first round. Also, we will be watching where a couple K-State grads are going; Jordy Nelson and James Johnson.
Here we go Steelers, Here We Go!!

Car Shopping
Another thing I have busied myself with lately is car shopping. What a blast!! It is about time to try thing new, I have been driving around in Pontiacs for far too long. For the past three days, I have been test driving a Jeep Commander. It is sweet!! It has all the luxury we are looking for, but it is big enough to fit “the kids”. Not for certain we are buying it yet, but I just don’t see myself giving it back!
Spring Game
These past weeks have been hectic. I am sorry the posts have been few and far between. So, first will be an update since last posting. The Saturday after the last post we attended the Sara Evans concert, which was excellent. We then got to meet Sara and have our picture taken with her at a private party after the event. As soon as I get the picture from the K-State foundation, I will post it. Attending the same party was U.S. Air Force General Richard B. Myers, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also attending Ricky’s practice that same day. We both thought that was pretty cool. Plus, whoever thought I would have to leave DC and move to Kansas to meet the chairman of the joint chiefs??
The next week flew by for everyone and Saturday brought the Kansas State Spring Game. See pictures below. The day was a blast. A carnival comes to town and I adopted another coach’s daughter for the day and rode every ride in the place…we spun, we flew, and we dipped for about 4 hours straight!! It was awesome.
Followed that up with some grilling and tailgating then headed to the game. The game ended 3-0 in favor of the white team. Boo…Ricky was on purple. However, the running backs looked awesome. All I have to say is that the game made us all very excited for this upcoming season!!

♪ Our House…a very very very fine house ♪
Our house has been a learning experience for me. What I have learned…I need a decorator. I have no creative ideas. Although, I am handy and I am working on redoing our bathroom as we speak. It was black and gold wallpaper. Now I love black and gold (Go Steelers), but even I thought this stuff was pretty bad. I will do a post when the bathroom is complete on the final product.
This post is only the outside of our humble abode and it is in the winter…so the grass is brown and the plants are dead. I took it from a helicopter. It was an awesome experience my friend here invited me on. We flew over our houses, one of my projects, and of course…the stadium. Ricky is actually out front of his office waving…but you can not see him, he is ant size.

The Constant Princess - Kahla
Kahla has not changed a bit since the addition of the barreling Yogi. She is my shadow when I am at home. I could not be more thankful for her companionship since our move to Kansas. Just a note on the title of this post…Ricky calls her the princess and he couldn’t be more right. Although, I never imagined a princess would be so loud and stinky.
She is growing old these days. Her legs are shaking and she is slow to fetch her ball. However, her spirit is still there. Her bark is enough to send the neighborhood kids into tears, but she is the sweetest little lady. She has to be sweet to put up with Yogi. He tends to think she is a chew toy.
Although Kahla has lived in many beautiful places…Hawaii, California, Colorado, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. We believe she is happy to call Kansas home. Check out her collar…she is a Wildcat all the way!

Our Growing Yogi
Hi all - Of course my second post would be my puppy. I can not help it...Yogi grows fast. Just to give you some idea of how fast. Please remember that we brought Yogi home on November 11th, less than 5 months ago. I have tried to take a similar picture every so often so you can get an idea. Ricky is my size comparison. I just noticed the pictures are more similar then I imagined...Ricky is in the same outfit in the December 24th picture and the April picture.
Yes folks. He is turning into a true Saint Bernard. I also have some pictures of our little man the day of his surgery. The pictures are quite funny, the cone on dogs is always funny! The night of his surgery he was so drugged up. He cried for about 2 hours straight that night and yet could not hold his eyes open.
He has since recovered and is back to his frisky self. We are still going to obedience classes. He has graduated from beginners to advanced (we skipped intermediate...he is that good!) Kahla's update will be tomorrow. It is back to work for me.

First Update - April 8, 2008
Hi Everyone.
My sister-in-law has set one of these up for our family to watch my little nephew grow and it is fantastic. I decided to give it a try so that all out friends and family, so far away, could see pictures of our place and our friends (and of course) our puppies.
I am new at this, so be patient.
Jen's Life: Tying up loose ends right now. Work is going well, new projects are on the horizon. My one project, Tuttle Creek Dam, should be on the History Chanel - Mega Disasters in September. I have redecorated our bedroom...it is coming together nicely. I have started redoing the bathroom. It is slow but steady. Before and after pictures will be posted...if I ever finish. I am working on our wedding album (still). Looking for a new car and trying to get my big puppy trained and in my free time...I run! Counting down the days till I have to wear a bathing suit in Mexico.
Ricky's Life: Spring Ball has started. His schedule has started getting hectic, but we are all looking forward to the April 19 - Spring Game. Kansas State puts on a great Spring Game...lots of fans and fun. After that Ricky is off recruiting. He should wrap that up in May, relax in Kansas for a week and then we are off to Mexico.
