First Day of School

Today was Ryder's first day of school. He had a spectacular day. He is in the honeybee class and on their very first day of class he was "The Honeybee of the Day!" Pretty special honor.

Parent Orientation

This year Ryder starts school. Crazy, I know. He will be in two days a week (our pediatrician says a day per year starting at 2...so when he turns 3 he may go 3 days a week and so on and so forth) It is a great chance for him to socialize with other kiddos.

Last week was parent orientation. It only lasted about 2 hours and we met his teachers (love them!) and then had a a group orientation while Ryder stayed in class with his teachers. His class is perfect for him 8 boys and 4 girls and he has two girls teachers; one is a Vandy grad and Ryder kissed her the first day he met her the other will be leaving on maternity soon. She will be replaced by a male musician (how cool).

Below are some pix from parent orientation: Ricky's Aunt Marietta was there to participate in the festivities.

Granny's Birthday Week

We traveled to Pittsburgh this summer to celebrate my mom's $0th birthday (secret). We went a little early and had Ricky's birthday there and went to Idlewild Park and at the end of the week Uncle Mike and his girlfriend Ashlyn, Uncle Tommy, Aunt Traci and Jackson and Morgan joined us in Pittsburgh and we had a nice little party for Granny. There are lots of pictures (mainly because Ryder rode EVERY ride at the amusement park and loved it. He is certainly my child!!) Love you Ryder...can't wait till we can ride together.

Celebrating Ricky's birthday with balloons and ice cream pie.

A personal favorite. Mrs. Wickert was walking down the driveway to say hello and this is what she walks into...priceless

Off to Idlewild

This was his very first (non-kiddy) roller coaster ride. He loved it.

This was about 30 seconds after he got off the roller coaster...fast asleep. Great Day!

Thursday and things are getting crazy...3 kids under 4 years old, plus 8 adults and the kicker is 3 dogs (one a crazy puppy, Bump) in my parents house. We make it work!

Chillin...

All dressed up and ready to take Granny out to birthday dinner. We went to the Georgetown, on Mt. Washington. We took the incline up the hill but it was a rainy evening, bummer.

Couple Fun Pictures and Updates

OK, a couple cute pictures and some fun Ryder updates. He is now sleeping in a big boy bed (kinda). We converted his crib in a little bed and soon plan on removing the rail completely. After that, the bed converts further to a full size bed. he may need that sooner than later if he keeps collecting things to keep in his bed. We have a checklist of "guys" that need to be in that small little bed with Ryder: Buzz, Woody, Elmo, More Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Baby, Dog, Llama and sometimes football (and sometimes Bump)... It's a zoo in there.

The Boys at Bath Time

Ryder's First Bee Sting...Ryder got stung the other day by a wasp. Thankfully we were at a friends house and her husband was a doctor and taught me some cool tricks. Plus, just in case Ryder was allergic, he was sure to know what to do. the funny thing was right after being stung he got to choose a plate for his dinner and he chose the bee plate. So, here is a picture of his swollen stung arm and his bee plate.

Clearly the sting did not hinder his appetite for pizza or throwing the football.

Cute Football Guys...Daddy and Ryder in some of daddy's cool football helmets. So Cute.

Bump...he gets his own picture for once. Our little puppy, 10 months now, is grown into a big fella but he still loves to roll up in a ball and cuddle on the furniture...against the rules!
