Ryder at the Pool

Ricky got off work after dinner tonight so we wanted to take full advantage of our time with him. We decided we should take Ryder to the pool. Ryder and I have been going almost everyday, but Ricky had never been to our town pool. Safe to say, Ricky was so impressed with how much Ryder has progressed in his swimming. Ryder has no fear! He kicks and blows bubbles underwater and loves the slides!! Enjoy the slide video. Sorry if it is loud.

Trip to Maryland

The last trip of our fun summer vacation was to Maryland to meet Caeden Crone. I told you...we went coast (San Diego) to coast (Maryland)! We also got to stay in the new Crone resort...which is actually their home, but it might as well have been a resort. Rooms for everyone, great food, swimming pool...you name it.

We did a lot of swimming and our last day there the Crone's hosted a BBQ where we saw lots of DC friends, including another new addition, Alison Lane. I have to say, both babies were adorable and SO well behaved. It was so fun to meet these cuties (and see the older ones...we won't forget you Brody!)

Our kind hosts extended the BBQ invite to some friends from KSU who are now in Maryland and it was great to see the Franklin Family and their beautiful little girls.

Thanks Tom, Amy, Caeden and Brutus for being such great hosts!

Getting packed up...

Ricky & Tom and their mini-me (I love this picture! The boys each look just like their daddies.)

Amy and the boys

Me and the boys (why is it my son won't smile, and I smile too big???)

Crone and Ryder...look same shorts.

Heat Wave

This summer is drawing to a close and it has been a wonderful one. A bit hot, but great. This past week it has topped out at 111 degrees and has been up over 100 everyday for the past week. So, I thought I would post a couple swimming pictures.

Swim Class from June 2010.

Going Under. Not his first time (I had the privilege of dunking him the first time, but he did great every time.)

Look...we have the same hair!

It's O' FISH al (official) I love swimming!

City Park Pool - these pictures stink, but it was hard to take pictures when I was watching Ryder near water. I only tried when we were in the baby pool. You should have seen Ryder in the toddler pool...he was a crazy man!

Rest in Peace our loving Yogi Bear

It is with great sadness I report that our family has lost our precious Yogi Bear. Yogi was the young age of 2 (turning 3 this month). he has long suffered from seizures and it was kidney failure that finally took our big friend. It all happened so fast. In his short time, he has left a lasting impression on our family. I know Ryder will likely never remember his first friend, but I will never forget. We love you Yogi...may you rest in peace.

We have so many pictures, I did not know where to begin, plus it is making me cry. If you would like some fun memories of Yogi, click on older post in 2009 or 2008. They will make you smile...they certainly made me smile.

I believe it is true...all dogs go to heaven. I know there is a wonderful spot up there for my big, good hearted pup with lots of treats and green bean casseroles and possibly a fridge with an ice-maker.

A boy and his dog...
