The Big News...Ryder's First Tooth

I have completely been slacking on posting pictures and that is mainly because I have been trying and trying to get a picture of Ryder's first tooth. I have now deemed this task impossible! Any suggestion from you moms out there are welcome.

Here are the details...it is a bottom front tooth and it is so darn cute. He was a real trooper getting it, he only really cried once and that was after it had already poked through. He got it while we were in Maryland and my mom was the first to notice it. He is already working on a second...I'll keep you posted.

In the mean time...here a video of Ryder waving his Terrible Toddler Towel.

Ryder visits our Nations Capital

This past weekend Ryder and I went to visit our friends in the DC area. Although I called the post a visit to our nation’s capital, the only time Ryder saw any monuments was from the car and plane windows. Oh well. Btw, he was excellent on both flights, I am so lucky to have such a great traveler!

We spent Friday in Virginia with Sarah and Steph (I totally forgot to take pictures, bummer). We hit up a local restaurant for some dinner and Ryder was a big hit. The host was actually sitting at our table holding the baby at one point…not to mention fighting the hostess for him. (Surprise surprise) they just could get over his hair.

Saturday was game day. We had a small tailgate with friends from the area (Crones, Lanes, Archer, Sarah) and cheered on the Terps. We did not cheer loud enough, the Terps ended up losing in the final seconds (much like K-State last week and the Steelers this week...I may hate field goals.)

Special thanks to Uncle Mikey and James and Fumi Franklin for the tickets and parking passes.  I was really glad Ryder got a chance to meet Coach Franklin.  Ryder even spent the first half of the game in Coach Franklin's office...trying to take a nap. Thanks James!

We got some fun pictures from the tailgate; including one with the Terps’ mascot and Ryder first sip of beer (we did not actually let him sip the beer). I am going to try and add my mom’s pictures from this week. She had some great ones.

One more “big event” happened this weekend, but we will save that for our next post!

Mom - I am not too sure about this thing.

What is this???

Sure, I'll help myself to a taste.  Thanks Nate.

My Cute Steelers Fan

Here are some pictures from Ryder's first regular season Steelers game. It was a Thursday night game, so we were pretty impressed he made it to the 3rd quarter.  It was a close game, but the Steelers pulled out a victory in the end.  Go Steelers!!

Ryder's First Football Game 9/5/09

We have had a big week. I need to stay on top of this blog or I am going to start missing thing. So, last week, Nini (Deb) came to visit. Ryder went to his first tailgate and football game and saw his first fireworks. Everything was a big success; Ryder loved the game, although he napped through some of it (which worked out great). He loved the band and really liked the fireworks.  Plus K-State won!! Woo Hoo!

I was a bad mom and forgot to put the memory stick back in my camera to document the momentous first, thank goodness the people sitting with us took a couple pictures and emailed them to me!

PS Watching a football game with an infant is a whole different animal. No loud cheering or clapping, no “first down” chants. I had to prayer the people next to me would not cheer too loud and I savored the moments when the whole crowd was standing (Ryder loves to be held and sway).  It was different but every bit as fun!

Time to Party

Nini (Deb) is coming this weekend and we are throwing a birthday bash!  Ryder sent out the invitation earlier this week.  We told everyone to wear purple, since it is Nini's favorite color, and we rented out a cool party place.  So many people are coming, the crowd has already started to form.

We can't wait to see you this weekend Nini!!

Here are a couple cute pictures I could not leave out of the post.
