Christmas morning was wonderful! I apparently still have a little kid in me since I woke up at 6am with the dog and could not get back to sleep. So, I took some morning pictures and drank a nice cup of coffee while sitting next to the tree listening to Christmas music...you cannot beat that! However, I finally got a little anxious for presents and went in and woke up Ricky and Ryder (at 8...who sleeps till 8am on Christmas morning!). I think this will be the last year I wake Ryder up on Christmas.
Ryder was able to open his own gifts and loved doing so. The only problem was he wanted to play with everything he opened. So, the beginning went pretty slow. But, that made Christmas last longer, which was a treat. He ended up wearing himself out and taking a little break, which allowed Ricky and I to open our gifts. Enjoy the pictures.
6am Christmas morning...before the storm.
Ryder and Man (that is what he called his snowman) seeing the presents for the first time. Priceless.
Ryder posing with his presents...the whole right side of the pictures was Ryder presents!!
One more present under the tree.
Holy Crap!! Have you ever seen such a mess!

The Christmas Tree
We had a great time decorating the tree...that is a complete lie. The tree was rough this year. I spent the whole Christmas season saying...no no don't touch. But really, who has a 10 ft tree with nothing but glass balls and glitter bows when you have a puppy and a toddler. It was a bad idea. We finally had to call Santa and he had a phone conversation with Ryder about not touching the tree. It actually worked...can you believe it. Thank you Santa (you know who you are)!
Pictures with Santa
I was a little nervous about this years pictures with Santa, but they went great! Ryder did give both Santas the initial "what are you wearing" look, but then he managed to laugh and smile. Of course, at one Santa...I did not catch the smile in pictures.
PS Check out the sweater...no it is not from Gap...my mom made it!! It is beautiful. I wish I had this kind of talent. Ryder got so many compliments on it, I actually had to show the tag (which said made with love from Granny) to one girl because she could not believe how profession it looked. Ryder is one lucky devil.

Introducing Bump
Enjoy the pictures of our newest addition...Bump and Run Rahne (we call him Bump or Bumper). He joined us this Friday. He is a golden retriever born on September 24th, about 8 weeks old.
Why Bump and Run? It is a football term and Bump is also a pass in Volleyball, a term used in skiing (moguls), and a shot (if you ever hang out with Ricky). Although, there were some great suggestions (RoethlisBARKER, PAWlamalu, Myron,Nike and Rooney). There were so many great ones...but Bump fits him just right.

One little, Two little, 3 little Indians
OK...misleading title. Just one little Indian. Ryder made an Indian headdress at daycare the other day and when I picked him up he had it on and looked so cute, so he spent the rest of Monday running errands as Chief Ryder. Kahla (our dog) and Ryder both had doctor appts that day. Enjoy the pictures, these are from the pediatricians but I wish I would have had my camera at the vet, Ryder is a BIG dog lover and they were all loving him and his feathers.
Here he is doing the politically incorrect Indian song.
He was playing a "tom tom"
This is his mean face, makes me laugh!

Fall Festivities
I have been slacking (again) at keeping up my posts, but football weekends just fly by and I never seem to get much done. Granny and Pup Pup (Jen's parents, Joan and Don)came to visit over a month ago. It was a Thursday game and although the game was terrible (loss to Nebraska), the rest of the weekend was wonderful. We enjoyed a pumpkin patch, octoberfest carnival, and a nice dinner at Nelson's Landing for Pup Pup's birthday. Thank you mom and dad for the visit. We miss you already!!

Daddy's Little Helper
We pulled a couple bushes in our front yard and have been unable to grow grass, so we decided it was time to give up and sod the area. In order to do that we had to dig out what was there and leave in level and 3" low. So, Ricky spent his one night off shoveling and hauling with Ryder and I. I took a quick break to take a video of the action. Ryder is a super helper and the best way to get stuff done in my house is to include him and let him "help". He is a cute video of Ricky and Ryder shoveling.

K-State Family Reunion Weekend
Football has started which means we have fun visitors here in Kansas. The first game (I know I am a slacker for only posting it now)...anyways, the first game we hosted Ricky's dad and step-mom, his sister and her husband and their 4 kids. It was a packed house. We had a great time and Ricky brought us home a victory!! Go Cats!!
Unfortunately, we do not have pictures from the game...just from playing in the sprinkler in the front yard...and enjoying a picnic style lunch.
