Best Pillow Ever

This post is pretty self-explanatory. This is a picture of Yogi and I from late last night. It was taken by Ricky and it just reminds me what a sweet pup we have!

Santa Paws - Christmas 2008

It is that time of year again. The local Humane Society has an event every year at our Vet's office called Santa Paws. As you may have guessed, you can take your pets and get their picture with Santa. Take a minute and enjoy our pictures.

Yogi was like the Naomi Campbell of dog pictures. An absolute pain in the butt most of the time, but in front of the camera he was a dream!! Kahla got so scared of the big man in red she wet herself. All in all though, a great success and a fun memory!

Airplane Day

We have a cool thing in our family that celebrates the day you join the family, it is called Airplane Day. It is a wonderful tradition and yesterday was Yogi's airplane day...although his was more of a car day. Ricky and I took a moment to reflect on our first year of owning our favorite little monster!!

The Crones are coming to town

The Crones are coming to town. I don't know who these people are, but I keep hearing about them. I heard they were coming to visit this weekend and because of that, I got to take a bath. I love baths! I also was told to be on my best behavior (yeah right). I hope the Crones like big dogs, sometimes I scare people, but I promise...I'm really sweet. Just a big teddy bear, well, I guess a "Yogi Bear". I can't wait to meet you guys. See you on Friday!

PS Bundle up, it's cold out here.

K-State Football

Hi all -

For those of you that have heard the news, Ron Prince was let go from K-State. That brings about a big question mark in our lives.

I should start by apologizing, I know we are doing a bad job at fielding phone calls and text messages. Please know that both Ricky and I are in good spirits. Ricky is an amazing coach and he/we will be alright.

Thanks to everyone for your nice messages and positive thoughts. Honestly, it is the nature of the job and we both understand that. We will keep you all posted on our status as we learn more.

Halloween 2008

Although nobody dressed up at the Rahne house (Boo!). We did have a great Halloween. Yogi and Kahla both welcomed and frightened the many children that game to our door. We had so many kids this year, my Halloween candy was nearly gone when I finally called it a night.

For those of you who do want to see the cutest little trick-or-treater ever. Check out my little nephew at http://neubergerfamily.blogspot.com/ Watch the dinosaur video. It is great!! try it without the sound...he looks like a little Godzilla!!

Catchup

OK, well things have been going on in Kansas while I have been away from my computer. K-State has had three more games and we have had visitors and Yogi learned how to work on a computer. I will be back on top of things after this week, things just got a little crazy. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures.

Special thanks to Frank Amorese, Justin Stevens, and Lorraine Rudolph for the wonderful visit. Glad you all made it out to Kansas and amazingly everyone kept Lorraine's visit a secret till she was standing in Manhattan, KS! Safe to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

This picture is not posed! I swear!

Kansas State vs. Montana State

This past Saturday was Fort Riley day at the field. The Big Red One was the honored guest and everything from Willie the Wildcat to the players walk out was camouflage and in full military style. The soldiers also assisted Willie in the 3rd and 4th quarter touchdowns with all the push ups. The soldiers had great form...even when the score reached the sixties.

Ricky and I disd our part by contributing some of our ticketrs to a couple nice soldiers I met at Walmart! I hope they enjoyed the game!

Again the Wildcats laid down a butt whipping. The final score was 69 to 10. The defense and special team both had a great showing with 2 touchdowns a piece. the offense was looking good and the running backs continue to improve and spread the time around. This week Logan Dold and Justin Woods both ran in their first Wildcat touchdowns. Way to go Guys!

There is no game this weekend, due tot he Wednesday game next week against Louisville, so the coaches will be off recruiting.

Bye Ricky...we will miss you at home!

Steelers vs. Texans

Sunday was a rough and slow day at the Rahne house. I had a lot of outdoor work to get done and I busted my butt to complete it by 1pm, so I could go watch football. Well, I don't know where my mind was, but football in Kansas starts at noon on Sunday. So, although I did miss the start of the game. A new extension of an old bar in town is now going to play the Steelers games with sound. This is much nicer than watching Pittsburgh on TV, but always listening to the Chiefs game which is on two channels at every ones house. Go home you locals and watch it on your own TV! Besides the point...I was able to watch and listen to the sounds of the Steelers crushing the Houston Texans. They looked awesome.

I am also going to redirect our blog. There is no way there is a cuter Steelers fan than my nephew. Check him out in his little jeans and Polamalu jersey.

K-State vs. North Texas

K-State is off to a great start. They started the year with a 45-6 win over North Texas. The running backs made a good showing with a touchdown in the first 2 minutes. The offense in general was pretty hot. All in all the team looks good and I am hoping for an amazing season.

During halftime 4 past Wildcats were inducted into the Ring of Honor, David Allen, Martin Gramatica, Terence Newman and Mark Simoneau. They were honored at halftime and stuck around afterwards and I got to meet them. Nice guys.

Steeler Dogs

These pictures are from a preseason game a couple weeks ago. I don’t know how I forgot to post them. The other dog was Kahla and Yogi’s friend Madi. She stayed with us for four days. She is young enough to keep Yogi busy and out of Kahla’s hair, but old enough to leave Kahla completely alone. It was perfect. It is amazing that having three dogs was easier than having two. Don’t worry Ricky…I’m not suggestion anything. I have a hard enough time walking these two goofs!

Yogi’s Birthday Continued

Finally Yogi received his birthday treats. That “dinosaur bone” was gone in less than one hour. Of course, it was stolen a couple times by Kahla, but Yogi managed to get it back in the end.

Happy Birthday to Yogi

This past Friday was Yogi Bear’s first birthday. It was a pretty uneventful birthday. He was not given his presents till Saturday and still has not received his birthday treats. Poor Kahla came down with Pancreatitis and has not been able to eat a thing for the past 4 days. I cannot bear to give Yogi a treat and Kahla not partake in the fun. So, we will be celebrating in two weeks, when Kahla can finally eat real dog food and treats.

In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of Yogi with half his birthday stuff; his new lion (which got torn apart and replaced by...) his new monkey (again torn apart, so I gave up) and his disgusting pig’s ear.

Kahla’s Half Birthday

Tuesday night we had a small party to celebrate Kahla’s half birthday. Unfortunately, I missed her birthday this year and decided a half birthday was just as good.

In Kansas City, I picked up some doggie treats from the Three Dog Bakery. My mom actually picked some up for them as well, so they got double the treats.

I took some good pictures. I tried to get pictures of them eating the treats, but they went too fast!
