Beach Bums

Ryder and I took a trip with some friends and their kids. It was a wonderful time had by all. We had three women and six kids under the age of 5. The house was AMAZING! It was beachfront with its own pool. Large and beautiful and surrounded by palm trees. Life is good.

Special thanks to our hostess and all the kids that were excellent for both the trip down and back and the week of fun...you guys are great!

All Boy

Not sure when it happened but Ryder became a true boy. He rams his toys together, loves the dirt, and plays every kind of ball. Here are a couple recent fun pictures.

Just a little dirty

Wish I had a picture of the bugs he has been picking up and showing to me. We had Cicadas here and they were his definite favorite for a while. They were disgusting!

Missing Post - Memorial Day

OK, I owe my parents a post from our visit there...but my pictures are missing. More on our memorial day visit to the Burg later. IU need to catch up again, so I will come back to this.

Update...finally

Life has been happening in the Rahne household for the past 5 months...I just have been too darn busy too post. So, first our top 10 to play catch-up then back to regular life.

1) Back in December Ricky accepted a job as the new Quarterback Coach at Vanderbilt (SEC baby!). He left the next day and has been lovin Nashville ever since. Btw, Vanderbilt is black and gold...so I feel right at home here! (Shoot me an email if anyone is looking to add Vanderbilt gear to their wardrobe.)

2) In January, the Fab 4 (Kahla, Bump, Ryder and I) cleaned house and took off to live with my folks in Pittsburgh**. I just thought it would be easier to show our house without the baby and dogs. It was so sad saying good-bye to friends (for all of us, even Ryder)

3) The month in Pittsburgh was awesome. Especially for the little guy. He had the attention of 3 people at almost all times, he still misses his Granny and Pup-pup. It was great for me too. The weeks before I left Kansas were exhausting and having other adults there to help with Ryder and the dogs was great. They also babysat while I took a solo trip to visit Ricky in Nashville and house hunt!

4) Signing Day - Feb 2. Vanderbilt signed a kick-butt group of freshman after only a month of recruiting. This included some start QBs. We had a great night out on the town and enjoyed Nashville.

5) March 1- moving out...although we left Kansas in January, we only took some suit cases, where else would we put the stuff. So, March 1, Ryder and I took our last trip to Kansas (birthplace of Ryder Richard Rahne) and said a sad good bye as we packed all our things and moved out.

6) March 5 - the Fab 4 moved to Nashville!** We moved into a great place with fenced in backyard, excellent location and fantastic neighbors. We live in Greenhills. pictures of the house to come in a future post.

**It really should have been the Fab 5 since Granny did all of our traveling with us. I could not have done it without you...thank you Mum!

8) Ryder and I took a vacation to North Carolina to see my best friend in the world walk down the aisle. It helped that she was walking to one of my college buddies. it was a wonderful collision of high school and college for me. It was a beautiful wedding and "Lorraine looked gorgeous" quoting Ryder.

7) Made it back in time for a visit with Nini (Deb) and the Vanderbilt Spring Game. It was awesome because Ricky was the Offensive Coordinator of the black team (maybe it was the gold team...who knows.) Ricky team's did not win, but it was his first run at being a OC. Way to go baby!

9) Easter and Ryder's birthday were that next weekend. Yes folks...I have a 2 year old!! Unfortunately he was sick for his birthday and we canceled his party at the Monkey Treehouse, but we did have bunch of friends over for Easter, including my parents who were in town.

10) recruiting season begins...that lands us at present day. Ricky has been on the road for 4 weeks...one more week to go. We all miss him here. Hurry home!

New Years Eve

We spent New Years at the Clements' house. They have 4 kids and Ryder loves visiting the family and playing with all the fun toys and kiddos. Ricky and I love it too!

Below is the only pictures we have from New Years. I unfortunately forgot my purse at home which contained both our phones and my camera. We had a great time and learned a fun new New Years tradition...grapes. Thanks Pelusa and Joe Bob, we will miss you guys tons.

I wish we had a picture of Kaden and Ryder, both in their cute little footy pajamas!

My Little Football Man! The helmet belongs to Chance Clements and Ryder loved wearing it around. It was really heavy, so I was shocked when he continued to walk around with it.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was wonderful! I apparently still have a little kid in me since I woke up at 6am with the dog and could not get back to sleep. So, I took some morning pictures and drank a nice cup of coffee while sitting next to the tree listening to Christmas music...you cannot beat that! However, I finally got a little anxious for presents and went in and woke up Ricky and Ryder (at 8...who sleeps till 8am on Christmas morning!). I think this will be the last year I wake Ryder up on Christmas.

Ryder was able to open his own gifts and loved doing so. The only problem was he wanted to play with everything he opened. So, the beginning went pretty slow. But, that made Christmas last longer, which was a treat. He ended up wearing himself out and taking a little break, which allowed Ricky and I to open our gifts. Enjoy the pictures.

6am Christmas morning...before the storm.

Ryder and Man (that is what he called his snowman) seeing the presents for the first time. Priceless.

Ryder posing with his presents...the whole right side of the pictures was Ryder presents!!

One more present under the tree.

Holy Crap!! Have you ever seen such a mess!

The aftermath, the two little boys sleeping under the tree.

The Christmas Tree

We had a great time decorating the tree...that is a complete lie. The tree was rough this year. I spent the whole Christmas season saying...no no don't touch. But really, who has a 10 ft tree with nothing but glass balls and glitter bows when you have a puppy and a toddler. It was a bad idea. We finally had to call Santa and he had a phone conversation with Ryder about not touching the tree. It actually worked...can you believe it. Thank you Santa (you know who you are)!
